WANT TO BOOST YOUR SALES ON EBAY?
60If you are looking to boost your sales on ebay and save yourself alot of questions I have some advice. The key to getting more sales is very simple and lies in your Item Description. If you provide the right information in your descriptions I guarantee that your items will sell better. I have found you get much better results from your ebay auctions by providing a good description than by typing one or two sentences.
Here are my suggestions:
- Start your description with "This auction is for" and list all of the items that are included. Don't leave out anything, product manuals, receipts, warranty cards, list them all.
- Describe the item in great detail. I can't stress this enough. List simple things like color, size, if it's used then how much was it used. If it has a small crack on the underside of the handle mention it and provide pictures. For Example, If you are selling concert tickets, provide the Section, Row and Seat Numbers. You would be surprised at how many people leave those out on ticket auctions.
- Always take photographs of-your items. Yes it is much quicker to use a Stock Photo, but people just like to look at the actual item they are getting. Yes the stock photo shows the same thing, but if people can see the very copy that they are getting they will feel more secure.
- Be honest(or at least semi honest) about why you are selling the item. For Example, again if you have some concert tickets to sell, list why you are selling them. If you can't make it to the show the include that in the description. I normally say I can't make it to the show because in reality if I sell the tickets then I can't make it. If you include a reason then you won't sound so much like a salesman.
- Write your description like you are writing a review. Let them know about the features of your product. What benefits does it offer. What makes your product different than other ones like it. Does this item have a history that you can share.

Think about this, if you saw two auctions for the same item. Let's say a 1958 Fender Stratocaster for example. Auction one simply said "1958 fender stratocaster, great condition". The second auction said "1958 fender stratocaster in great condition. Sunburst color, with Tweed Hardshell Case. Sounds and plays great, everything functions properly. This guitar belonged to my grand father and was passed on to me. I hate to let it go but It deserves a good home. I no longer have time to play it". Which one would you rather buy?
If you are like me then you hate typing a long description, but I promise that people will be likely to buy from you then the guy who wrote a two line description. Another great benefit of being overly descriptive is that you won't get as many questions from buyers. I don't have time to answer 500 questions that could have been answered in my description in the first place. Now go out there and start being descriptive. I hope that these suggestions increase your sales on Ebay.

Great info, the more info you give the more likely people are to bid. Plus it does really save you a lot of headaches from answering questions.
